I have worked in eating disorder treatment centers in Boston at both the inpatient and outpatient levels of care and practice from a Health At Every Size (HAES) approach. In sessions, I utilize components of CBT, DBT, and Internal Family Systems therapy to aid clients in identifying and responding to difficult emotions or thought patterns. My hope is that our sessions are a comfortable and safe space for you to grow and feel supported. MEDA provides various clinical and therapeutic services to support individuals looking to improve their relationship with food and body. We offer the following services: Assessments to determine what level of care is best suited for your needs. Based on the individual assessment, we will make specialized recommendations for next steps – which may mean seeing a MEDA provider, joining a MEDA therapy group, providing a list of eating disorder specialists in your area, or recommending higher levels of care. Individual Therapy and Nutrition Counseling Sessions provide outpatient care to clients. Therapy Groups are a structured place to build a community with a shared goal of full recovery. Free Drop-in Support Groups are virtual groups moderated by a Master’s level therapist or Graduate clinical intern. Skills Coaching Sessions are supplementary services that assist individuals in identifying and implementing concrete steps to recovery.

Libby Flavin, MSW, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Van Dusen Nutrition®. Libby currently works full-time in the Needham office and sees clients for individual in person and virtual psychotherapy sessions. Libby’s mission is to provide a safe space for individuals to reclaim the aspects of their lives that an eating disorder has taken away from them. Her approach is authentic, non-judgmental, and honest. Libby believes in full recovery and that by trusting the process and bettering relationships with self and others, it is possible. Libby received a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences with a minor in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island. She then completed her MSW at Boston College, specializing in mental health. Libby’s clinical internships consisted of in-home therapy services, academic counseling, and eating disorders at both the partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient levels of care. Following her graduation from Boston College, Libby then went on to continue developing her skills in the treatment of eating disorders at Walden Behavioral Care in Braintree, MA where she ran group therapy, meal monitoring, and provided individual and family therapy to adolescents and young adults. Libby is an active member of the National Association of Social Workers and Multi-Service Eating Disorders Association.
I am a pre-licensure clinician and post-doctoral fellow in clinical psychology with Copernican Clinical Services. I work very well with young people who are struggling to adapt to college or grad school, either socially or academically. I am able to diagnose ADHD and create treatment strategies. I also work very well with students who are struggling to differentiate from their parents or families. Sometimes this look like anxiety or depression, but it can have its roots in dysfunctional family systems. I am good at working with you to identify what you grew up with vs what you need now. I am in training as a sex therapist with a focus on how to get pleasure from sexual intimacy. I like to support sex workers, and can also attend to gaps in sexual functioning.

Others may be going through changes in friendships, family dynamics, dating, or figuring out who they are and what they want. College and young adulthood can bring a lot of change, and sometimes those transitions can bring up deeper emotions or past experiences that affect how we connect with others. In therapy, I focus on creating a space where you can be open and honest without feeling judged. Together we explore relationship patterns, emotional responses, and what might be underneath them. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, build healthier relationships, set boundaries, and feel more confident navigating change.

I help college students: -stop obsessing about food, their body image, or what they're eating -let go of chronic worrying and find stillness in amidst busy lives -manage their stress so that students can stay on top of all their demands -feel more in control by better organizing their time and building routine (less doom scrolling!) -feel more authentic navigating new-found independence (particularly among societal or familial pressures!)
