Hey there, I'm Claire! I am a Limited Licensed Marriage & Family therapist, and member of Michigan’s chapter of Postpartum Support International. My clinical work has been with couples and individuals navigating non-monogamy, LGBTQIA2S+ identities, ADHD, Autism, anxiety, disordered eating, people-pleasing, and grief. I especially enjoy working with teens/youth to create accepting spaces where we don’t need to mask. I offer in-person mental health therapy appointments, and telehealth when needed. Outside the office, I can be found talking to my friendly neighborhood highland cows and occasionally my plants. I strive to build safe spaces with my clients where their strengths are celebrated. My training is in systems theory, a trauma-informed therapeutic approach that respects how our relationships with the world impact our personal journeys. I embrace therapy as a collaborative, client-centered experience that creates new opportunities for growth. Everyone lives a diverse, intersectional existence with idiosyncratic experience. Acknowledging this means relating to others with inclusivity, openness, and humility. This philosophy not only humanizes students, many of whom identify as marginalized community members (e.g., BIPOC, LGBTQ+, accessibility needs, low-SES), but also honors their authenticity. Thus, I practice from an existential-humanistic-relational lens so I can naturally tailor therapy with evidence-based techniques (e.g., CBT, SFT, ACT) and psychological theories (e.g., identity, attachment, multicultural) necessary for understanding students’ intersectionality. I typically work with students experiencing elevated anxiety and depression, while specializing in identity development, interpersonal dynamics (e.g., relating to others), relational trauma, and existential concerns (e.g., authenticity, choice, meaning). Early sessions help form a therapeutic alliance, revealing underlying issues that manifest as psychological distress (e.g., anxiety, depression, trauma). From there, we identify coping skills, foster hope, and alleviate symptoms as you gain insight-oriented feedback. We also collaborate to explore, discover, and empower actions for you to become the most authentic version of self. The modern world is daunting, with a pace and pivot difficult to navigate. The rapid spin of sudden chaos. Steady drift of aimless wander. Dead still of eternal stagnation. As a serving spirit, I provide a healthy space for students to be and become that who they are and will be. Here, all are welcome. Here… all are an expression of hope and self-empowerment.

Desireé Waters understands that life can be both beautiful and overwhelming—and sometimes all at once. She believes we all deserve a space where we can pause, reflect, and receive support without judgment. Desireé offers that space and aims to be a steady, compassionate part of your support system. In the midst of busy schedules, constant responsibilities, and the unpredictability of life, it’s easy to put your own needs last. But in the therapy space, that changes. Together, you’ll create time that is just for you—focused solely on your healing, growth, and goals. Desireé fosters a safe, affirming environment where you are encouraged to be your full self and guide your own journey at a pace that feels right. Desireé brings a well-rounded background in clinical social work and school-based mental health, with experience supporting children, teens, and families. She uses a strength-based, trauma-informed approach and is especially passionate about helping young people build emotional resilience, process life transitions, and feel seen and heard. I offer my clients a calm and safe place to work through issues that are holding them back from living their best lives. The issues I most often help clients with are anxiety, trauma, adjustment issues, ADHD, and depression. I offer Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and Neurofeedback Therapy. I have found EMDR to be an amazing tool that has been so helpful in allowing my clients to work through traumatic events which then leads to less anxiety, less depression, higher productivity, and better sleep. I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to see if we would be a good fit. I look forward to talking with you.

Hey there, I’m Georgia. As a therapist my goal is to put you at ease with the process of therapy, and provide a comfortable, warm environment for all of my clients. I emphasize kindness, respect, humor and open communication in my work. I look to create a safe, protected and professional relationship where we can work together to help you address the things that are causing dysfunction in your life, and create opportunities to experience the power of relationships to engage and to heal. In my practice I blend attachment-based, person-centered, trauma-informed and strength-based approaches. I believe that every human is unique and has a unique story, and that therapy should be tailored to best fit you. I have deep respect for the individuals and families who come to therapy, and always seek to support and honor my client’s strengths and resiliencies. It can be very difficult to take on the commitment of therapy and to open up to someone else, and just showing up to therapy is an act of strength and courage. I seek to maintain an affirming and accepting space for all humans, including LGBTQIA2S+ identified individuals. I have 9 years of experience working in the mental health field in research, school, home-based and clinical settings. I have worked primarily with young children, but have also had experience working with infants, toddlers, teens, young adults, parents, families, and pregnant individuals. I have experience providing therapy to children from difficult places, children in foster care, adoptive children, and children who have experienced trauma. I am passionate about working with children, families with young children, and about helping caregivers to grow stronger connections with themselves and with the children in their care. I also enjoy working with individuals of all ages and believe that it is never too early, nor is anyone ever too old, to benefit from a therapeutic relationship. I have completed foundational training for Theraplay® and am now engaging in work based on Theraplay principles. Theraplay is an approach to child and family therapy that aims to address behavioral, emotional, or developmental issues and improve the parent-child relationship through play and healthy interaction. Caregivers of children up to age 12 are welcome to inquire to learn more about this method. A little about me – I live in South Lansing with my partner and our dog, two cats and a small flock of chickens. I spend most of my free time working to transform my 1.3 acre lawn into an urban farm, food forest, and native plant and wildlife refuge. I find my greatest moments of joy and peace in life through engagement and connection with nature, and love to hike, backpack, camp, kayak and explore new places.

An essential part of our lives is creating and maintaining connections: to ourselves, other people, and the world around us. Sometimes, those connections require extra attention, in order to get the most out of life. I would be honored to walk with you through the process of learning about and cultivating that inner and outer connectedness. I work from a person-centered, holistic, and mindfulness-based approach. This means that I try to help my clients explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, while practicing to re-regulate their body sensations in the moment. If this sounds like what you’re looking for, let’s connect! It's easiest for me to communicate by email, so if you reach out with a brief description of what you'd like help with we can get the process started.
