As a bilingual LCSW-R with over 17 years of experience in the field, I have created a practice with a team of clinicians who are ready, willing, and able to provide you with the services you need. My practice areas are working with adults, adolescents, children, couples, and families. I also am an Expert telemental health clinician recognized by the TeleMental Health Training Certificate (THTC) My treatment areas are domestic violence, marital relationships, anxiety, depression, career related issues, immigration and acculturation, sexual abuse, and trauma. Assistance for unaccompanied minors seeking asylum. Weekly support groups are also available.
Charlie Health is a virtual behavioral health program for adolescents and young adults with moderate or severe mental health concerns or co-occurring substance use or eating disorders. Designed to meet the needs of those who require more than weekly therapy, our program combines curated group therapy, individual therapy, and family therapy into personalized treatment programs. We are helping to serve those who are in crisis, or have been historically underserved, by eliminating the most significant treatment barriers: geographical and financial access. We work with nearly all commercial insurance nationwide and have no waitlist, thereby helping people access quality, evidence-based care regardless of insurance, location, or other barriers.
Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck doesn’t mean something is wrong with you. It usually means you’ve been carrying a lot for a long time. I work with college students and young adults who are trying to keep up on the outside while feeling stressed, burned out, or unsure of themselves on the inside. Therapy with me is practical, supportive, and focused on helping you understand what’s actually driving your anxiety, overthinking, or self-doubt, and what to do about it in real life. Sessions are a space to slow things down, make sense of what’s going on, and build tools you can use outside of therapy. You don’t need to have the right words, a clear goal, or a crisis to start. We take things at your pace and figure it out together. If you’re curious about therapy but not sure it’s for you, a consultation is a low-pressure way to ask questions and see if it feels like a good fit.
In my practice, I partner with my client to discover how to ride the wave of life. With a person-centered approach, emphasizing unconditional positive regard, I strive to build an empathic environment which begins with the belief that all human beings have an innate need and right to express themselves. I specialize in anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, relationship and social skills. I offer a combination of traditional talk therapy with an emphasis on mindfulness and body awareness, with creative exploration through an array of artistic modalities. Techniques are tailored to each client’s comfortability and needs. Healing and change are often uncomfortable, but necessary for a joyful life. I look forward to being your advocate on this journey where you can expect to be seen and heard. I believe that therapy is a space to tell your unique story, where your lived experience will be received, honored, and validated without judgment. By diving into that story together, I can help guide you in understanding yourself and charting a course for future growth. As we walk this path together, we will work toward self-acceptance, empowerment, and joy. I support clients through a variety of challenges, such as exploring identity, navigating transitions, strengthening relationships, processing trauma, and coping with stress. As a queer, gender non-binary therapist, I am particularly passionate about providing sexuality- and gender-affirming therapy to queer and trans clients of all ages. I prioritize queer joy and gender euphoria in the therapeutic space, and strive to create a safe haven for clients to explore their identities beyond heteronormative sexuality and binary gender. My therapeutic approach is tailored to the individual client, and incorporates a variety of techniques and approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and anti-oppressive practice. My therapeutic style is goal-oriented and client-centered, and I prioritize collaboratively constructing a set of goals to bring intentionality to my work with clients. I strive to bring warmth, empathy, and patience to my work, and I encourage clients to identify and leverage their unique strengths and capabilities. My practice is informed by queer theory and critical race theory, and I strive to help clients explore how their lives have been influenced by social structures of oppression and inequality. In my free time, I love spending quality time with family and friends and finding new favorite spots to eat in my neighborhood. On the weekends, you can find me exploring Astoria Park and fawning over every dog I meet.
I am passionate about guiding clients on their journey to be their better self. I utilize a person-centered, trauma informed, and empowerment approach when working with clients. It is important for clients to have access to a therapist who looks like them and/or is understanding of their cultural experiences. As a Black clinician that identifies as a cisgender woman, I prioritize working with Black clients in general and Black women and LGBTQI+ persons in particular. I strive to help clients re-reparent their inner child to heal childhood wounds, create boundaries to reduce anxiety, and explore emotions to better understand self. I always show up as my authentic self; and, I want you to feel comfortable to show up as your authentic self. My time with you will be dedicated to you having that session time to learn, be, and grow into your full self. Your session is a time to explore emotions, relationship patterns, coping skills, and ways to solve barriers/problems in your life. My goal is to assist individuals from marginalized communities navigate oppression, micro/macro aggressions, trauma, and lack of understanding from others. In addition, my goal is to work collaboratively with you to heal, restore, and empower yourself. We will work on creating your goals and treatment together. Be prepared to show up and do the work. :)

My clients are often deep feelers, over thinkers, and high achievers such as students, clinicians, creatives, adoptees, BIPOC, and first generation individuals who are navigating identity, relationship dynamics, responsibilities, anxiety, depression, overwhelm, burnout, trauma, or systemic stressors. They are often masking or silencing parts of themselves to meet expectations. Many are seeking a space where they do not have to explain their identities or experiences, where they can feel heard and seen without judgment or fear. They want support, clarity, and autonomy to show up fully both in therapy and in their everyday lives. I offer unique understanding of intersectionality rooted in lived experience and aim to provide culturally and trauma-informed care. I've supported youth and families in schools, camps, and community centers facing trauma, crisis, abuse, neglect, grief, loss, immigration issues, displacement, and second language challenges for over a decade. I've trained clinicians, staff, and supervised interns in crisis intervention, SEL, and case management. With a long-standing dedication to human development, attachment theory, and a gathered knowledge of specific cases, treatments, and approaches, I am committed to client-centered care tailored to each individual's needs. I understand how overwhelming it can feel to carry so much while trying to hold it all together. I offer a compassionate, supportive space where your full self, voice, and unique form of expression are honored. If you’re looking for a space to make sense of things in your own way, you’re welcome to connect with me and discover what therapy can mean for you. I offer free 15-minute consultations, feel free to reach out and connect further via email or my official website.
We get so many messages in our lives about what is expected and how we "should" be living; social media, friends, and culture can all provide an idea of what we should be reaching for, which can often feel confusing and frustrating. If we grow up with dysfunction and trauma, it can seem even more confusing. We struggle with these expectations and somehow still feel we are coming up short. It can become an exhausting pursuit! It gets harder and harder to listen to our own voice, and what our needs are. I am drawn to helping people who have dealt with trauma and feel persistent isolation and sadness in their daily lives. Together, we can try to look at things a different way, and navigate a different path. Let's explore together, like astronauts! By gaining perspective, we can find opportunities for strength and agency in our everyday lives. By connecting to new support, we can make our own space to think about things we didn't know were possible. My goal is to create a safe space for exploration and support you on this path. Making the first step can be intimidating, but we can also go to new places. Contact me to setup a free consultation call to figure out how we can move forward together.
