A riverbend symbolizes a new direction and the future that is waiting to be discovered. When struggling with emotional distress like anxiety, depression, trauma, family conflict, or more it can be extremely difficult to see the positives that could appear ahead. Like a riverbend, counseling can be the new direction towards peace and calm, and a step towards a brighter future. I am an LCSW with experience in the field of mental health and addiction. I strongly believe in utilizing a holistic and person-centered approach to help empower individuals to reach the goals that are most important to them. If you are entering a new phase of life, have been struggling with your mental health, or are a parent who has been impacted by a loved one’s substance use, please feel free to reach out to schedule a free consultation, and know that you are not alone in this journey.

Hello, I help people with gaining clarity and understanding of themselves, their future, purpose, and meaning. Additionally, I can be helpful dealing with challenges in the present that get in the way of getting where you want to go. Sometimes it can be difficult to connect with our brigheness or gold and it takes an exploration of what is dark or shadowy in our lives or in ourselves to get to a place where we can shine once again. I have experience with this as well. Please reach out to ask any questions or find out more about what I have to offer.

My approach centers on engaging in self-discovery and awareness of your thoughts, feelings and behavioral patterns. This internal world influences anxiety, depression, mood stability and reactivity. Therapy is where you can take the time to get to know more about yourself and ways to build helpful self-care practices. Many of my clients come to therapy struggling with persistent self-doubt, critical inner narratives, as well as the weight of expectations around identity, achievement, and emotional expression. These expectations can distort our sense of self worth, making it challenging to define and meet important self-growth goals. Together, we can work to intuitively explore what may be contributing to these challenges, current belief systems and behavioral patterns. I value a conversational approach to therapy, where you can feel open in expressing your thoughts, concerns and internal narratives in order to ultimately choose if they are still serving you or it may be time for change. How we speak to ourselves matters; it not only affects our mood but also our motivation, behavior, and ability to connect with others. When we cultivate an intentional internal dialogue that aligns with our values we can begin to unlock a greater sense of autonomy and capability. This process leads to lessened anxiety, greater self confidence and acceptance.
As a school and clinical psychologist, my practice always focuses on the student first. My goal is to understand the issues that are impacting my clients, and to help them find a realistic way to make the situation better. Over the past 20 years I have helped students through school changes, academic difficulty, special education accommodations, general anxiety, managing ADHD, social challenges, and general life stressors. If you are looking for support, feel free to contact me and we can discuss how to get started.

In our work together, we will set goals, build a deeper understanding of maladaptive patterns, and learn more ways to manage the stress in your life. I am a licensed clinical psychologist with specialized training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I offer individual, couples, and family therapy to adults and children of all ages. Convenient evening and weekend appointments are available to accommodate your schedule. I graduated from Columbia University with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and trained at NYU Child Study Center, Columbia University Medical Center and New York State Psychiatric Institute. I completed a postdoctoral fellowship at New York Presbyterian-Westchester, where I gained further expertise in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for the treatment of depression and anxiety. I strive to maintain a warm and non-judgmental stance in therapy. I believe strongly in the collaborative process and will work actively with you to help achieve your therapeutic goals. I am happy to speak with you about any questions or concerns you may have about beginning therapy.
