I am a dedicated Marriage and Family Therapist committed to supporting individuals, couples, and families in navigating the complexities of relationships. My initial motivation for pursuing Marriage & Family Therapy was my desire to support and uplift families, particularly in areas where seeking mental health services is still stigmatized. I have experience working with sexual, physical, emotional, racial, and intergenerational trauma as a trauma therapist. I've also had training in Gottman therapy, so I can address your concerns in couples therapy. I am bilingual providing therapy in English as well as Spanish. My practice, which is based on a systems framework, places a strong emphasis on providing a secure and accepting environment where clients can discuss issues, develop relationships, and explore obstacles. I am a strong proponent of collaborative therapy, where clients and I work together to develop objectives and tactics that will lead to positive change. Whether it's dealing with communication problems, handling life changes, or handling interpersonal disputes, my mission is to enable people and families to create happier, healthier relationships. I treat each client's individual background and values with sensitivity and respect in my therapy, having a great appreciation for diversity and cultural nuances.

Hi! I'm Lauren. My goal is to help you cultivate more peace, stability, and joy in your life. Together, we can work toward reducing stress, fostering emotional balance, and creating meaningful connections that support your overall well-being. Whether you're seeking clarity during a challenging time or looking to make lasting changes, I am here to support you on your journey to a more fulfilling and harmonious life. I'm a social worker who enjoys working with adults, adolescents, and children from all backgrounds and intersecting identities. I'm committed to being an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, LGBTQIA+ affirming practitioner who integrates social justice into my practice whenever possible. As a therapist, I will focus on your strengths and resilience, trust you to be the expert of your own experiences, and provide a warm and supportive environment to freely explore your thoughts, feelings, and desires for change. I have experience working with people living with anxiety, depression, OCD, and who have experienced trauma. My style is humanistic and relational, often incorporating cognitive behavioral techniques, mindfulness practices, emotion-focused approaches, and somatic practices. I will integrate these different approaches according to your specific needs.

Hi! I work best with clients who are figuring out who they are, where they belong, and how to navigate stress, relationships, and big life changes. Many of the people I support come from multicultural, multiracial, Indigenous, LGBTQIA+, or immigrant backgrounds, and are looking for a space where all parts of their identity are understood and respected. You might be dealing with anxiety, family pressure, identity questions, or feeling overwhelmed balancing everything. Some clients I work with are also navigating the impact of immigration experiences, acculturation stress, or racial trauma, whether from personal experiences, family history, or systemic challenges. These experiences can shape how you see yourself and move through the world, and you do not have to process them alone. You do not have to have it all figured out. Therapy can be a place to slow down, make sense of your experiences, and find ways to move forward that feel right for you. In sessions, we will look at both the deeper parts of your story and practical tools to help you feel better day to day. I often use a mix of approaches, including exploring patterns from your past, building coping strategies, and working on how your thoughts and feelings connect. My style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in respect for your lived experience. I aim to create a space where you feel safe being fully yourself, no pressure, no judgment, just support as you grow, heal, and navigate this stage of life.

Feeling stuck or struggling with relationships? I help students navigate the pressure of college while exploring racial/ethnic, sexual and gender identity, especially within the Latine/x TNG/LGBQ+, and neurodivergent communities. If you're tired of guessing why things feel hard, my assessments provide clear answers and paperwork you need for school accommodations. Whether you want to understand your patterns or get a roadmap for your brain, let's build a life that actually feels like you. See if we're a fit.

College is a time of real growth — and real pressure. For many students, it's also when questions about identity, mental health, and how they move through the world come into sharper focus. I work with college students who are navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, identity exploration, trauma history, or the particular exhaustion that comes with being neurodivergent in demanding academic environments. Many of the young adults I work with are autistic, ADHD, or both — and are often doing so without the scaffolding that got them through high school. Others are transgender or gender-diverse, and are figuring out who they are while managing minority stress, family dynamics, and systems that don't always make things easy. My approach is relational and collaborative. I don't follow a rigid protocol — I draw from ACT, DBT, and CBT, and I tailor what we do to who you are and what you actually need. Sessions are a place to build insight, develop real skills, and figure out how to live more fully as yourself. I'm a licensed clinical psychologist with advanced training in gender-diverse care, trauma, and neurodevelopment. Before opening my practice, I spent two years at Yale's Pediatric Gender Program and completed my doctoral internship at Yale School of Medicine. I keep my caseload focused so I can do this work with the depth it deserves. Sessions are available via telehealth across Connecticut and New York, and in person in Southington, CT — which may be convenient for students at nearby colleges and universities. I also see adolescents and teens, so referrals for younger clients are welcome. I'm happy to connect with counseling center staff to discuss fit, coordination of care, or consultation. The best way to reach me is through my website or by phone.

Welcome I'm Melissa and I'm so glad you landed here! I work with young adults who are feeling overwhelmed by life’s challenges—whether it’s relationship struggles, a constant worry loop that you can't get out of, low mood, struggles with food and body image, or difficulty with change. If you're reading this, you might be feeling out of balance or disconnected from what’s meaningful to you. Maybe you’re not sure what’s meaningful right now. You could be stuck in old patterns that no longer serve you, unsure about your next steps, or just know something feels "off" without being able to explain why. Or maybe you just need a safe space to explore it all. Whatever you're experiencing, it’s all valid—and it’s all welcome here.

The transition to college at any age can be challenging. Course load, social pressures and changes to friend network during this transition can cause anxiety, depression, burnout and relationship issues. These things can keep you awake at night, make it difficult to focus on your studies, lead you to engage in negative self-talk and unhealthy behaviors. I can help you develop coping strategies to help ease that transition so you can make healthy choices and achieve your educational goals.

They want to feel calmer in their daily lives, more confident in their choices, and more connected in their relationships. Most of all, they want to stop feeling stuck and start moving forward with clarity and strength.

It’s easy to feel stuck or broken when we’ve never had the space to allow all of our emotions, the support to feel them safely, and the perspective to view ourselves with compassion. But when we finally get those things, we get to evolve, grow and change in ways that can be truly profound. My job isn’t to force you to do anything, but to help you learn and build what you’ve needed, so that you can evolve in the ways you want to. If I can count on you to teach me about yourself, about what you feel, and what you're hoping for, you can count on me to listen, and to offer options for how we can pursue your goals. I offer an open approach that includes you in deciding what we do and why, so we can be sure we're working in ways that are both understandable and meaningful to you. So far, this approach has led to clear results for people experiencing PTSD, anxiety, OCD, depression, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, and recent traumas. As we collaborate, I can provide additional support via methods like EMDR, IFS, EAET, mindfulness, exposure, and body-based therapies. Call or email any time.

In my years of experience I have come to realize so much about living in the world robs us of our ability to acknowledge our own magic. Therapy should be a safe place for you to begin to reclaim that magic and learn how to discover your own power. By using a "bottom to top" approach to identify how long held, negative beliefs, have kept you reliving and repeating the past, you can finally live in the present. I provide a safe, non judgemental space for you to work through trauma and reclaim the power inherent in you.

Do you feel stuck? Perhaps you recognize that something in your life isn't working and you've tried to fix things or make changes, but it didn't work and you find yourself feeling exhausted, defeated, confused, helpless, hopeless, or overwhelmed. Or maybe you have no idea where to start. You've landed in the right place because getting unstuck is my specialty. Reaching out for help is a courageous choice. I am honored to provide a safe space for clients to pause, reflect, process, learn, and grow. My goal is to empower clients to live fully and embrace a lifestyle that sustains a sense of well-being. I am licensed in NY, PA, IL, and NH, which allows me to support students year-round who may live in one state and go to school in another, or who plan to move to another state following graduation. Transitions are often a time of increased stress so finding a therapist who can be present *virtually* throughout is important. In addition to our work together in session, I make use of an app that is free to my clients to provide resources between sessions and collect data to create a personalized approach to treatment.
