My specialty is ‘extreme stuckness’. My approach is intense, caring, tough, and free-flowing rather than structured. My therapy groups are full of challenging, brilliant, courageous people who seek depth and growth. All the therapists in our group practice are trained in a meta-approach called "Feedback Informed Treatment" which means that we track how things are going session-by-session to see if anything needs to change about our work together to help you get where you want to go.
Do you feel stuck? Do you feel like you know all the rules and what you are “supposed to do” but somehow can’t get where you want to go? As your therapist, it is my goal to help you feel at home in your mind, body, and heart. I can help deconstruct and shift your “shoulds” into something that feels more authentic and meaningful to you. We also can dig into your past and explore how old coping mechanisms that may have helped at one time are now limiting. I am trained in a myriad of techniques—including mindfulness and EMDR—to gently guide your mind and body back to the present moment to a state of well-being and resiliency. I believe in your innate goodness and will always remind and point this out to you. I cannot tell you what is right/wrong or healthy/unhealthy and I resist being another voice telling you what you are “supposed to do”. My job is to provide a warm and accepting space to not just think and talk but to feel the big emotions. I will ask questions, reflect, and ponder alongside you as we rediscover your inherent wisdom and regain a sense of freedom. My clients tend to be intelligent humans who feel caught in their anxious minds, trauma, or simply desire support in living a more authentic and meaningful life. I work with people suffering from anxiety, perfectionism, life changes and transitions, grief, disordered eating, trauma, panic attacks, binge eating disorder, low self esteem, poor body image, and depression among many more. Let’s connect. I’d love to hear from you. Book a free 20 minute phone consult: https://electra-byers.clientsecure.me
The intake process typically spans about four sessions, during which the emphasis is on assessing the compatibility between you and me. This initial stage is crucial as we establish a foundation for our therapeutic alliance and become acquainted with each other. A central element of my practice involves being fully present during our sessions and attuned to nonverbal cues. I listen to not only what you are saying but how you are feeling in the moment. I encourage you to observe and share your experiences during our discussions, fostering a sense of being present 'in the room' together. The therapy session serves as a secure space where we can explore your beliefs about yourself, how you make sense of the world, and your ways of connecting with other people. It provides an opportunity for you to practice assertiveness, express your emotions and needs, and challenge any assumptions about my perceptions and interactions with you.

Welcome! Whether you are beginning your therapeutic journey for the first time or returning to continue your progress, I am so glad you’re here. Starting therapy is a significant step towards self-discovery and healing, and I commend you for taking it! These experiences can be challenging and often overwhelming, affecting various aspects of life. My specialization in trauma therapy provides you with a safe, supportive space to explore and heal from past experiences. Similarly, my experience in anxiety management can support you in understanding and overcoming the symptoms that may be impacting your daily life. I have worked in Community Mental Health for over three years where meeting with clients in some of their darkest times has influenced me to take specified approaches to therapy. I am a mental health and addiction counselor who has experienced the impact of mental health issues on myself, my family, my friends, and my community. I understand the importance of a safe, nonjudgmental space for exploration, introspection, and healing. I enjoy using creative modalities in conjunction with traditional theoretical frameworks to allow clients to explore challenges and questions from multiple perspectives. I bring experience, compassion, and advocacy to mental health, addiction, and recovery. I specialize in working with adolescents and adults. I use a sense of curiosity and the gifts my spiritual and scholastic mentors have given me to help guide my clients on their journey of discovery. A current curiosity has led me to an increased understanding of the neuroscience behind addiction and how the mind interacts with our bodies and the world around us. I believe everyone has a chance at discovering themselves and finding a fulfilling path in life no matter what your background. If you want to discover your true self, build coping skills to help with sobriety, depression, or anxiety, or if you need help processing trauma, please reach out for a free initial consultation.
Welcome! I specialize in working with anxiety, relationship concerns, and eating/body image issues. College can be a whirlwind of new experiences, freedoms, and responsibilities. Add to that the current state of the world, and things can easily feel heavy. It's common that in the overwhelm of managing it all, anxiety around life, relationships, and food becomes a way to cope. If you've been struggling, you don't have to carry the weight of it alone-- finding a therapist you like and trust can change everything. I am trained in somatic therapy, which means we include body awareness as a way to get beneath the conscious mind and anxious thoughts that play on repeat. This helps to get in touch with what's really going on and find sustainable relief. Clients often say that somatic therapy promotes deeper change than other types of therapy they've tried before. I know it can take a lot of energy to start with a new therapist. I'm proud of you for caring for yourself by taking these steps. Reach out for a free 30-minute call so we can get to know each other and see if it's a good fit. I look forward to hearing from you!

When life feels like too much to hold on your own, there is overwhelm, anxiety, uncertainty, or you could just use some extra support, therapy can be a beautiful choice. Therapy is many things; understanding old, habitual patterns, processing painful or confusing emotions, cultivating resources, reclaiming pleasure, and developing a trusted relationship with another person to process the most vulnerable parts. If talk therapy has already been tried and feels stale, then art and creativity, somatics, nervous system awareness, and nature connection can offer a profound alternative in your therapeutic journey. This is where I come in. I weave together art and creativity, somatics, nature-connection, and mindfulness. As well as reflection, contemplation, and talking to integrate. I work well with themes of identity, times of transition, expansion, self-compassion, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, decision making, burn-out, relationship dynamics, addiction, trauma, and parts work.

Hi, I'm Keiran (they/them). I serve individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, panic, grief, shame, loneliness, trauma, and other emotional pain as well as individuals with marginalized identities including various gender identities and sexual orientations. Often, as intelligent people, we use our minds and our intellect to ease our struggles, but these difficult emotions have a bodily experience that is important to acknowledge and work with. My approach to therapy includes mindfulness, body awareness, somatic techniques, and an attachment theory lens. Understanding ourselves and our struggles via logic is a small piece of therapy. We can also get to know ourselves with a felt sense of our internal experiences, judgments, confidence, and other patterns by noticing how our mind and body interact. I believe we all have the ability to heal ourselves. My role as a therapist is to offer you extra support, a welcoming space, a different perspective, and a new approach to your struggles as you move toward healing. I also believe a good fit is a crucial part of therapy, which is why I offer free, 20-minute initial consultations for possible clients.
