Kelsey Dowty, is a licensed master social worker with over 10 years of experience working with young children and their families. Kelsey is an endorsed Infant Mental Health Specialist and certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). She is often inspired by her pet pigeon Bobber and his flock of resilient pigeon friends, who have a remarkable way of igniting hope in the hopeless. Bobber and his feathered friends sometimes make their way into therapy, as they enjoy sharing their life stories with children about how embracing adversity can create beautiful meaning. Kelsey has worked extensively with young children experiencing developmental delays, children dealing with trauma and loss, children who have attachment disorders, as well as children who have been in foster care or adopted. For young children, she approaches trauma and attachment difficulties within the parent-child relationship, as caregivers are essential in helping their child heal. Kelsey knows there is power in relationships and opportunity for healing. She is here to witness your truth, sit with you through the anguish, and empower you to create your next beginning.

When working with adults and families, I encourage collaborative sessions that adapt to their unique needs and goals. I’m especially passionate about working with individuals experiencing ADHD, anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, and life transitions. Everyone lives a diverse, intersectional existence with idiosyncratic experience. Acknowledging this means relating to others with inclusivity, openness, and humility. This philosophy not only humanizes students, many of whom identify as marginalized community members (e.g., BIPOC, LGBTQ+, accessibility needs, low-SES), but also honors their authenticity. Thus, I practice from an existential-humanistic-relational lens so I can naturally tailor therapy with evidence-based techniques (e.g., CBT, SFT, ACT) and psychological theories (e.g., identity, attachment, multicultural) necessary for understanding students’ intersectionality. I typically work with students experiencing elevated anxiety and depression, while specializing in identity development, interpersonal dynamics (e.g., relating to others), relational trauma, and existential concerns (e.g., authenticity, choice, meaning). Early sessions help form a therapeutic alliance, revealing underlying issues that manifest as psychological distress (e.g., anxiety, depression, trauma). From there, we identify coping skills, foster hope, and alleviate symptoms as you gain insight-oriented feedback. We also collaborate to explore, discover, and empower actions for you to become the most authentic version of self. The modern world is daunting, with a pace and pivot difficult to navigate. The rapid spin of sudden chaos. Steady drift of aimless wander. Dead still of eternal stagnation. As a serving spirit, I provide a healthy space for students to be and become that who they are and will be. Here, all are welcome. Here… all are an expression of hope and self-empowerment.

Hi! I am an EMDR-Certified and AASECT-Certified Sex Therapist with a specialization in working with college students (both "traditional" and "non-traditional"). I deeply enjoy getting to work with folks who are looking to address challenges they might be experiencing in their relationships: their relationships to partners, friends, family members, and importantly, to themselves. Many life experiences may lead us to feel in disconnection with ourselves: whether you have experienced relational or institutional trauma, are navigating multiple life transitions (e.g. beginning a new degree, receiving a new medical diagnosis), or are exploring social, sexual or gender identity, I am here to help you reconnect with yourself and take steps forward in your healing journey.

Life is a journey with many twists and turns. Along the way we experience some good things and some not so good things, but all life experiences make up who we are in this very moment. Everyone deserves to be able to tell their story and to be heard. I’m here to help support my clients so they have a voice and can determine their own life direction and meaning. I primarily use tools from cognitive behavioral therapies and mindfulness in working with substance abuse, addiction, depression, anxiety, anger management, ADHD/impulse control, and life transitions. I help individuals gain a deeper understanding of how motivation, executive functioning, and overall functionality affect their daily lives. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Michigan State University in 2011, and received my Master of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology and Graduate Certificate in Substance Abuse and Addiction from Western Michigan University in 2015.

You know life has ups and downs, but the challenges you are facing can make it feel like an endless rollercoaster. Whether you are struggling with 'adulting' or other life changes, I completely understand your need for life to be easier. Through our time together, you can begin to feel a sense of calm and get back on track to living a purposeful life. As a therapist specializing in life changes & anxiety, I am committed to helping you find more life balance and a sense of inner peace. I work with both individuals and families. With two decades of experience, you can rest easy knowing you are in capable hands. Your life is hectic and choosing a therapist can be overwhelming. I want you to receive the best possible care, which means working with the RIGHT therapist (not just some random name from a list). That’s why I offer a free call to help you decide. If I'm not a fit, I can provide you with referrals. I primarily work with young adults and other helping professionals (teachers, nurses, physicians, and other therapists) who may be struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, family problems, and/or navigating difficult life changes. My clients typically begin to experience gradual relief within 2 months of weekly sessions. I utilize an integrative approach to therapy with strategies from many effective treatment types including ACT, Brainspotting, IFS Informed Parts Work, and Motivational Interviewing. You can expect your experience to be welcoming & casual (never super stuffy or formal). I believe in honoring each person's strengths & consciously creating a space where you can feel free to be your authentic self. Walk & Talk sessions are available in Flagstaff during summer months and in Chandler in the winter. **Now partnering with Mentaya for help in submitting your out-of-network insurance claims. I am committed to making therapy accessible by contracting with Lyra EAP, offering limited sliding scale slots, and accepting HSA and FSA funds. My educational background: 2001 Bachelor of Science in Psychology- University of Michigan-Flint 2006 Master of Social Work University of Michigan- Ann Arbor LCSW in Arizona since 2009

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when you are already juggling classes, relationships, and figuring out your next steps. But you don’t have to navigate it all alone. I believe therapy is a collaborative partnership where you are the expert on your own life. My goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental, and deeply supportive space where you can unpack whatever is weighing you down. I often remind my clients that healing isn’t about erasing the past or pretending everything is perfect; it’s about learning how to live fully right now, even while you are working through old wounds. We all have chapters of our lives shaped by the pain of betrayal, loss, or stress—but those chapters do not get to dictate the rest of your story.
