Our lives can take many different paths, and finding the path that meets our needs and values can be hard to navigate. It can leave us in a place of feeling lost, overwhelmed, broken, and disconnected from our sense of self. This sense of hopelessness can prevent us from seeing the power within ourselves. PeriAnne is here to meet you where you are at, and be your hope holder until you are able to see the hope that is in every situation. PeriAnne believes that we all have the ability to embrace our vulnerabilities, opening ourselves up to experience our true self. She would be honored to journey with you, as an individual, a couple, or a family unit. This journey may include having a listening ear, or by facing challenging thoughts, and past experiences. It can be difficult work, but also rewarding. The choice of trusting to start the journey is yours. PeriAnne has had a passion for people from a young age, graduating from Central Michigan University with a degree in Psychology, she went on to earn her Masters in Marriage and Family therapy from Western Michigan University. PeriAnne is a Limited Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Professional Counselor. She specializes in working with couples, families, children, adolescent females, and young adult females. She has experience in working with trauma, anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, life changes, self-worth and self esteem. PeriAnne believes in a holistic approach to counseling where the mind, body and spirit are all linked.

Hillary believes that the foundation of counseling is a therapeutic relationship that offers a safe and comfortable environment. Sharing your story while experiencing acceptance helps to drive the therapeutic process and lay the foundation for real healing and growth. She believes counseling can be a place to explore your patterns, come to understand factors that contributed to your development, and find a balance between accepting yourself and changing patterns that are no longer serving you. Through this exploration and finding the right therapeutic tools, Hillary believes that all people have the ability to understand themselves better, find acceptance, and learn to thrive in daily life. Hillary works for Mindful Counseling GR at the Standale location. She is an alum of both Grand Valley State University and Western Michigan University. Hillary works with adolescents and adults. She specializes in working with individuals with anxiety, trauma, depression, and life transition concerns. Hillary also has experience with family of origin work and exploring relational patterns within the family unit. Hillary will work with you to identify strengths within yourself, increase self-awareness, and find the right tools for managing life symptoms and stressors before they arise.

My path started by working in alternative high schools, and then as a career counselor in management and business development roles for a few universities and military populations. I have over 18 years of experience working in education, career development, and mental health. My experience growing up in Flint, Michigan, and being the first in my family to attend college, shaped how I view and overcome challenges. I specialize in support for working professionals, especially teachers, nurses, and students with anxiety or depression who are struggling in their careers, education, or relationships. Many feel stuck, burnt out, angry, and overwhelmed. Chronic stress makes it hard for them to connect with their instructors, bosses, and peers. Time management is an issue and constantly trying to keep up. Some may prefer to be alone, even though it leads to ruminating over traumatic work experiences and substance use. My clients have demanding jobs and/or class schedules, and are highly trained and accustomed to solving problems. However, no one is immune to the long-term effects of stress and trauma. I have over 18 years working in counseling, higher education, and career development. My communication style is warm, yet solution-focused, often encouraging you to think from the end, build your resilience, and focus on the future. Some clients get what they need to make a positive change in 6-8 sessions. Others enjoy my long-term support to address trauma. First time trying talk therapy? Congrats on taking the first step. I value confidentiality and understand the college campus and workplace cultures. You do not have to go through this alone. Let's get you out of survival mode and start to thrive. Reach out to schedule your complimentary 15-minute consultation today. I look forward to talking with you.

I love meeting new people, hearing people's stories and unique experiences, utilizing humor, and supporting one another with kindness! In our space, these things are true: Your feelings and experiences are valid. You will be not only listened to, but heard. You will not be judged. I will hold a space for you and your experiences. As much as therapeutic engagement can teach you, I know I will also learn from you. I will create safety for you in the light and in the dark.

Life can feel like a rollercoaster—full of unexpected ups, downs, and sharp turns that can leave us feeling stuck or unsure of what comes next. In those moments, it’s completely natural to question whether things will ever get better. You don’t have to navigate that alone. In our work together, my goal is to walk alongside you, offering support, practical tools, and a safe space to explore what you need in order to move forward with confidence and a greater sense of balance. I am certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and draw from several evidence-based approaches—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Together, we’ll tailor treatment to fit your unique needs, values, and goals. I am committed to providing trauma-informed, culturally responsive care. My style is strength-based and collaborative, focusing on helping you access your resilience and developing meaningful, achievable steps that support your mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. I look forward to connecting with you and supporting you in this next part of your journey.

Are you feeling overwhelmed by the pressure of school, grades, social groups and trying to keep up with everything you're supposed to be doing? Maybe you find yourself comparing yourself to others, wondering if you're falling behind or not doing enough? Maybe you’re overwhelmed by school, work, family expectations, pressures of needing to know your life goals or all of it at once. You might feel stuck and need some support and or just exhausted trying to balance everything. Whether you're navigating college or grad school, exploring relationships, or dealing with family pressures, I’m here to walk alongside you. If you’re in that in-between space, thinking you need to have things figured out, questioning yourself, or just trying to keep up, I get it. Therapy can be a space to unpack and process, where you can slow down and start to explore what matters to you and what are some patterns that may be holding you back. You're not alone if you're asking questions like: "Am I doing enough?" "Why does everyone else seem to have it figured out?" "How do I make time for myself when everything feels urgent?" Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, life transitions, family dynamics, grief, or the social exhaustion of trying to stay connected while also needing space this season of life is a lot. In our work together, I’ll meet you where you are. I offer a space where you can show up as yourself. I believe in being real with you, validating what’s hard, and gently helping you explore what feels stuck or confusing. We’ll talk about things like identity, relationships, stress, loss, and how to care for yourself even when everything feels like it’s moving fast. Whether you’re feeling stuck, emotionally exhausted, or just trying to figure out your next steps, my intention is to walk with you and offer a steady, supportive space to explore, grow, and heal. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Michigan with a specialization in Interpersonal Practice in Integrated Health and Mental Health and completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Grand Valley State University. I draw from a person-centered approach, believing that my clients are the experts in their own lives. My role is to offer support, perspective, and tools as we work collaboratively toward your goals.
