Whether you're worrying often, struggling with relationship stress and conflict, needing to process traumatic events, or wanting to experience a more loving sense of self, beginning therapy can be anxiety-provoking and takes courage. I hope to make your experience a little easier by listening with compassion and curiosity, moving at your pace, and centering the therapy around your needs. Do others describe you as overachieving, self-reliant, perfectionistic, or Type-A? Do you struggle with creating enough balance in your life? Do you lose track of your needs & desires, and then find yourself feeling burnt out or resentful of others? We will work together to help you feel more grounded and centered, develop effective communication skills, set & maintain boundaries that feel good, experience greater compassion towards yourself, and feel more connected to others. We can work through whatever barriers are getting in the way of creating more play, softness, love, rest & support in your life. I am trained in psychodynamic therapy & mindfulness-based somatic therapy, two powerful ways of working that promote greater awareness, connection, and sense of freedom. I welcome you to reach out for a phone consult & we can feel into if we're a good fit to work together.

College and early adulthood can be exciting, but they can also feel overwhelming. You may be trying to balance classes, work, relationships, family expectations, and questions about your future, all while wondering if you’re the only one who doesn’t have everything figured out. Maybe you’re feeling anxious, burned out, lonely, stuck, or like you’re constantly overthinking. Many of the students I work with are thoughtful, motivated, and care deeply about doing well. From the outside, they often appear to have it together, but internally they’re struggling with stress, self-doubt, perfectionism, relationship challenges, or feeling disconnected from themselves. Therapy offers a place to slow down, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and move forward with greater confidence and clarity. My approach is warm, collaborative, and genuine. I won’t just sit back and nod, I ask thoughtful questions, help you recognize patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and support you in developing healthier ways of coping, communicating, and relating to yourself and others. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and challenged in ways that promote meaningful growth. I provide virtual therapy for college students and young adults throughout Florida, New Mexico, New York, and Texas, making it easier to fit therapy into your busy schedule. If you’re looking for a therapist who is compassionate, engaged, and committed to helping you navigate this stage of life, I’d be honored to work with you.

It cannot be overstated what a big deal it is that you have begun to explore finding support for yourself. This first step is one of the hardest. I’d be honored to be a resource for you during this time, and accompany you as you grow and change. The majority of my clients are high achievers of all stripes, from Ivy League students to folks attending competitive conservatories and art schools. I was a performing artist (actor, singer, musician) for 12 years in New York City before changing careers, and I specialize in working with folks who have creative identities. Many of my clients are LGBTQ+ and/or neurodivergent, and most also find themselves in overfunctioning/underfunctioning dynamics in their relationships. My main therapy modality is Internal Family Systems (IFS), as well as somatic mindfulness-based therapy (Hakomi), and experiential therapy (gestalt). Basically this means that, in therapy, I will support you in getting more familiar with your internal system by helping you track what’s happening in your mind, your body, and between you and I (the therapist and the client). I’ll also guide you towards deepening your relationship with the different “parts” of your system, learning their agendas and desires, which sometimes produce inner conflicts and create stuckness. It’s well-known that being mindful of your body and breath is a great way to reduce stress, and using this practice as real situations arise in therapy will give you a practical way to use it in your day-to-day. As you get to know your system better, you will build greater trust within yourself, allowing for stuck parts to shift and for real lasting change to occur. If you’ve been in therapy before and it just felt like venting, IFS will be different. Pro tip: the research suggests that the therapy modality you use is less important than a trusting relationship with your therapist as far as positive therapy outcomes (though I will happily talk IFS theory for days). Do your best to go with your gut feeling about who intuitively feels right when choosing a therapist, even if right now might be the hardest time to do so. If something about my practice resonates, please reach out and schedule a consultation! I look forward to hearing from you soon!
