College is a time of growth and self-discovery—but it can also bring unique challenges. Balancing classes, relationships, and big questions about who you want to become is already a lot. Adding the stress of chronic illness or health symptoms can make it feel even heavier. At Evergreen Solutions, therapy offers a supportive space to explore your identity, manage the emotional impact of health challenges, and build skills for balance and confidence. This is your time to grow into yourself, and you don’t have to do it alone.

Making the step toward healing is a courageous choice, and in knowing how vulnerable this process can be, I strive to provide a safe, accepting environment for those who are ready to open themselves up to this growth. I believe that all humans are inherently worthy, and I will support you in uncovering this within yourself. There are many obstacles that can get in the way of aligning with your core values and the life you desire, and my goal is to guide you in the learning and unlearning process that can help reconnect you with your true self.

My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe and compassionate space so that when they are ready, individuals can feel comfortable opening up about their emotions and experiences. In addition to talk therapy, I also offer art therapy as a way to engage the mind and body on a deeper level. I take a nonjudgmental stance and view therapy as a collaborative process. I believe you are the expert on your own life. Together, we will honor your differences, tap into your strengths, and work towards change that is meaningful and important to you! I enjoy working with adolescents and adults with a variety of concerns, including trauma, anxiety, and depression. I am also passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ folks. I believe growth occurs through a trusting therapeutic relationship and often use art, authenticity, and humor to create avenues of connection. Your story is valid and important! You are welcome to reach out if you feel like we may be a good fit. Currently I offer services both in-person and online. I look forward to talking with you!

During our sessions together, I will support you in exploring the many parts of you and how they came to be. I will work with you to identify the negative messages connected to these parts of you. We will form a relationship with these parts and create a safe place for all of you to be seen, heard, and understood. In this safe place, you will heal yourself. Developing my own internal resources has helped me to move through some very difficult times as a member of the LGBTQ+ community. Using evidence based research, I provide care that values every part of you and respects where you came from. In those moments of pain and struggle and self-discovery, I will help you to choose yourself. I seek to create a safe and inclusive space for black-bodied individuals, first generation immigrants, LGBTQ+ folks, survivors of trauma, sex workers, and clients who are struggling with relationship and intimacy issues. My approach to mental health care is rooted in anti-oppressive and decolonizing frameworks. The treatment modalities that I use have been found to be effective across many cultures, ages, genders, and experiences. I am here to support my clients in rediscovering themselves, strengthening their mind-body connection, and living the life they have always wanted.

Gordon Greer is an outpatient therapist with extensive experience working with teens, adults and families in outpatient mental health and inpatient psychiatric settings. He currently works with teens, adults and their families concerning a wide range of issues, including (but not limited to) anger, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, insomnia, sexual and gender identity (Gordon is an LGBTQIA+ ally), interpersonal relationships, personality disorders, traumatic stress, suicidality, and chemical and process addiction. Because of his sensitivity to the possible apprehension involved with anything new or personal, Gordon places a particular emphasis on helping clients and families feel at ease from the very beginning. His relaxed approach is primarily informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational Interviewing, both evidence-based treatments. Gordon also is a certified alcohol and drug counselor trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Outside of session, he enjoys sports, going outside, dry humor, and being with his wife, sons and dog.

My name is Erick Pena. I struggled with depression and anxiety for about 20 years, and it wasn't until I read a book called "Getting Past Your Past" by Francine Shapiro that everything started to make sense. As a therapist, I offer traditional talk therapy, but I am incredibly passionate about EMDR therapy. I believe that in the same way talk and EMDR therapy have helped me deal with the negative symptoms that plagued my life for so long, they can also help you.

We believe that you are the master of your own life, and we believe that therapy is a joint process that we can navigate together. We cannot "fix" you or tell you what you "should" do. The journey is yours. We can be a support, and provide a safe space. We can guide you in learning and using tools which will allow you to better manage your symptoms and create and maintain healthy boundaries with yourself and others. The tools you learn and develop while you are going through your therapeutic journey are meant to also allow you to improve your ability to self-soothe, create and maintain healthier boundaries in your relationships, make decisions more effectively, and to better support, assert, and advocate for yourself once therapy ends. You are capable. Our mission is to provide more accessible services to underserved clients, particularly in the LGBTQIA+ community, folx with neurodivergence, racial and ethnic minorities, and for other underserved populations who lack access to in-person services, or lack access to counselors competent in these areas due to living in areas that are smaller, more rural, or more conservative.

I work with folks that are in the middle of change—whether that’s navigating substance use, questioning long-held beliefs, or rebuilding after a major life shift. As a master’s level student therapist pursuing an LPC, I take a solution-focused, creative approach that blends evidence-based techniques like CBT and IFS with real-world problem-solving. Therapy isn’t just about talking—it’s about movement, perspective shifts, and practical steps forward. Through curiosity, structure, and a focus on what works, we’ll navigate this together. If you’re ready to start—or even just thinking about it—let’s talk.

Ocean Township, NJ

I am a licensed clinical psychologist (in the states of Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Ohio) who has been practicing for over 10 years. I have years of experience working with college students as I am a former College Counseling Center Director and worked in counseling centers as well as have seen college students in my private practice. I have years of experience providing both clinically and culturally competent therapy (meaning I collaborate with students to address topics they want to in therapy using tools/strategies that have been proven helpful and I take into consideration a student's various social identities and how that may impact how they experience the world). I find that I work well with students who are working through life transitions, adjustments, relationship stressors, experiencing anxiety(including those who experience social anxiety) depression, a desire to increase their self-esteem, racial trauma, or are in need increasing their overall coping skills.

My approach begins with the understanding that connecting with one’s self and others is a pathway toward finding meaning and fulfillment. This pathway of connecting can become blocked by old emotional wounds or current relationship struggles. The partnership formed in the therapy relationship becomes the platform where healing broken connections may occur. This approach can help bring about lasting change by getting at the ‘root’ of the problem and bring relief from symptoms. Central to Chris’ approach is a concern for the role that faith and belief play in the life of the patient. My practice is shaped by his time training at Northwestern University, Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, and the Center for Religion and Psychotherapy of Chicago. My approach to working to help people change comes primarily from a model for psychotherapy where tending to feelings, symptoms, and patterns of relating become an important part of the healing process. In our first conversation, you can expect to briefly discuss your concerns as well as setting up an initial meeting. The first meeting is where your concerns and history are better understood in order to offer specific recommendations and feedback.
